British Drift GP London June 14th

Drift Allstars Europe RD 1 -British Drift GP  Drift Allstars Europe RD 1 “British Drift GP” announces a change in venue of the only UK round for 2015. We delighted to announce an alternative  London venue, this time kicking off at the Arena Raceway, Essex on June Sunday 14th. Renowned for its raw, edgy urban track designs, Drift Allstars will turn Essex raceway into a one-off custom drift circuit for the night.

Two fundamental changes will be made; the circuit will be paved with asphalt and additional turns which will be brought in, making the weekend a unique experience. Ensuring to capitalise on the infamous oval for the Night Fight, fans can expect to witness the best drivers in Europe battle it our for the win in a gripping show down. The many international teams will be keen to unleash the cars they have been carefully prepping during the off-season. Stadium events are always a hit with the crowds.

Niall Gunn, Founder of Drift Allstars, commented: “It’s been a testing few weeks including a late venue change, but our team dug deep and I am really pleased with the outcome. It’s important we keep the British Drift GP stop on the calendar, as it is always fantastic to kick off the first round in the UK, before heading onto the big stops in Europe. Many venues reached out to us, but the Arena Raceway and its staff went the extra mile to make this opportunity happen. SpeedWay/Stadium events are always a hit with and I expect this to be no different.” With so many international teams and drivers flying in exclusively for this event, having a host venue that is both well known and embodies our heritage was key to our decision. The Arena Raceway is the home of drifting for London and has amassed a huge following in the region.

As a result of the worldwide interest shown on the Facebook event page, Drift Allstars expects this to be one of the highest UK attended events to date. As the final countdown approaches, fans can expect multiple releases in the coming weeks, containing exciting information, including the fan favourites’ official drivers section. Check out the action from last years London event!

Destination Guide
London, the capital of England, is renowned as the city that never sleeps making it the perfect place to visit for those who like to get out and about. As well as a history spanning two millennia, it has remained fresh and energetic and boasts a rich collection of art, architecture and heritage alongside modern skyscrapers, lush parks and quiet Victorian streets. It’s also incredibly diverse with almost 300 languages spoken and as many different cultures, helping it become at the forefront for arts, entertainment, fashion, education and finance. The city also boasts some of the most iconic landmarks in Europe from Buckingham Palace and Madame Tussauds to Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament.
Getting there
With five international airports along with the Eurostar and Channel Tunnel, London is easily accessible. The main international and domestic airport is Heathrow lying to the west of the city and is well serviced by the underground (Piccadilly line), Heathrow Express and regular buses and taxis. Stansted, Gatwick, Luton and City airports are also no more than an hour outside of the city with many low-cost airlines offering cheap, regular flights in and out of the UK. For those travelling from Europe than the Eurostar and Channel Tunnel make for easy crossings of the English Channel with journeys between Paris and London by train taking as little as two and a half hours.
Getting Around London has one of the best public transport systems in Europe with quick, easy access across the city via a number of different means so there’s no need to rent a car. The Underground, commonly known as the tube, is by far the best way to get around and is divided into six zones, although zones one and two cover most of the city centre. Fares are reasonably priced but can be made even cheaper by purchasing an Oyster pre-paid travel card available at the majority of stations and local stores. The city is also well served by public buses and river taxis or you can rent a bicycle or simply explore the city on foot!
